On the eve of my journey to Dallas, I am so very excited to be the winner of the Medifast Fly-Away Contest! I can’t believe this happened to me!!!!!! Since I love basketball so much and was a ball player on the very first women’s team where I attended college, this is a tremendous opportunity to see “real” college basketball, live and in person!!!!!
I want to sincerely thank Medifast for giving me this amazing gift and “once in a lifetime” experience!!!!!!! I never dreamed I would win, thinking there were probably thousands of entries all over the country.
I wanted to share how successful I have been during the past year and one-half with the Medifast program. I am slowly, but consistently losing weight and I have now lost 26 lbs. and probably about 20 inches. It was such a long and arduous journey because during the last year, I moved several times, and had to transfer to another center also. I was disappointed to lose my support team at one center, (Sunset Valley), but fortunate to gain a wonderful support team at my new center at Gateway. Misty, the manager, was so wonderful to me and never lost hope in me, even though I was very discouraged and not the best client, I’m sorry to say. Meanwhile, Michelle, Diane, Lauren, and Jeannette (nutrition counselors) have been so uplifting and positive, as well!
Everyone has been so very encouraging and positive, even when I fail to lose a pound or fail to follow the program just right. I’ve learned we all fail, but we all can choose whether to stay down or get back up. Medifast has helped me soar to new heights with my appearance and my confidence. Before I was very insecure and unusually sad. I now have a more positive outlook on my future and my goals to continue losing weight.
Another goal of mine has been to eliminate diet sodas and with the help of the Green Tea White Grape Peach Flavor Infusers and the Strawberry Lemonade Flavor Infusers, I have almost forgotten about Diet Cokes. I just wish I could have more than 3 per day. I am limited to 3, but it has helped me so much to stop reaching for the diet sodas, and it is exponentially healthier for me and for my body and nervous system. I urge you to do the same — try the Infusers and quit the diet sodas. They can be very harmful and addictive. I’m happy to say I now crave the green tea more often then I do the coke. However, I still have one every now and then. I’m not perfect by any means.
I have also embarked on a regimen of walking almost every day. If I don’t work it in to my very busy schedule during the day, I make a point to walk that evening. I’m not running a marathon any time soon, but would like to work up to that goal one day, perhaps.
This upcoming trip will certainly be a real highlight of my life thus far, and an unforgettable memory for me and my family, especially my son. I can’t believe I’m attending the NCAA semi-finals and finals games in Arlington at the “Jerry Dome”, also known as the AT&T Stadium. I have great excitement and expectation about watching the games and also, people-watching. I learn a lot about people when I’m in a crowd, and it helps me to see others differently and more positively, who perhaps struggle with the same issues I have.
My son, a former all-star basketball player, will be attending with me and he is very excited also, never having seen a live college basketball game. He has also been very encouraging of my weight loss and inspires me to be healthy.
My suitcase is filled with 5 days worth of Medifast Meals, bars, shakes, etc., to keep me in shape and on course the whole time! I hope to be able to report I was successful while traveling, which is often quite a challenge!!!
I will keep you posted on how the weekend shapes up! Again, a very special thanks to Renee Beck, Public Relations Manager, and
a million thanks to Medifast for providing this trip and for inspiring me to soar higher and higher to attain my goals!
I will always remember you and the Medifast company for this amazing and awesome gift!!!!!!
