Stephanie recently lost 70 lbs with Medifast and went from Transition to Maintenance. She’s sharing what it was like to re-introduce certain foods and make decisions on her own.
I recently indulged in a seasonal pumpkin spice latte with co-workers for a mid-day break. I have worked hard for more than a year to drop nearly 70 lbs, so I did feel a little guilty. But, I quickly realized with a little juggling around of my meals for the rest of the day, this treat would be no biggie in the end.
Introducing foods back into your diet can be hard and scary. The Stephanie of last year would have had a latte in addition to choosing other foods like chocolate, pizza, and pastas/breads and all in the same day. Instead, after drinking my latte, I used the skills that Medifast taught me. The whole experience really re-wired my brain to better understand calories, carbohydrates, and proteins—how to make smart daily decisions. As a result, for the remainder of the day, I loaded up on vegetables, proteins, and other good fuel.
The weather is changing—crisp mornings, vibrant colors on the trees, and pumpkin patches popping up. As I continue to work hard to maintain my weight loss, I realize the fall and winter months can pose challenges. Parties and holidays, comfort foods, and colder weather which makes it harder to the find motivation to go outside for physical activity. Making smart decisions, exercising, and hydrating are expectations I now hold myself accountable to, thanks to Medifast.
