The Front Burner™: Spiced Crockpot Roast Beef


What do you get when you mix beef, veggies and hours in a crockpot? A healthy and delicious meal for the whole family! Try out the latest recipe from Chef Jason Hisley and The Front Burner™ today.

Spiced Crockpot Roast Beef
Serves 6. Each serving provides a complete Lean and Green Meal and three condiments.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs beef roast
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp ground black pepper
  • 4 cups thinly sliced white mushrooms
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 3 cups green beans
  • 1 cup diced scallions
  • 2 tsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 tsp balsamic vinegar
  • 2 crushed garlic cloves
  • 2 tsp ground mustard seed
  • 2 Tbsp water

 

Directions:

  1. First, trim all visible fat from the roast, and salt and pepper both sides of the roast. Place the beef in the crockpot.
  2. Add the remaining ingredients to the crockpot.
  3. Cover, and cook on low for about 8 hours or on high for 4 to 5 hours.

Nutrition Information: 390 calories, 44g protein, 9g carbohydrate, and 20g fat
