The Road to the Super Bowl

“The price of success is hard work, dedication to the job at hand, and the determination that whether we win or lose, we have applied the best of ourselves to the task at hand.” -Vince Lombardi

The Super Bowl is the epitome of success in the football world, and the path to that achievement is not unlike the one a Medifast customer embarks on to a healthier lifestyle. Both roads require planning, hard work, and dedication, but to all, the end destination is well worth it.

Offseason: Plan
For both Medifast consumers and NFL football teams, the journey starts with an offseason that is dedicated to planning. For the Medifast consumer, this means deciding to commit to a lifestyle change, realizing change is necessary to become healthier, and setting weight loss goals. The Medifast “offseason” may also mean conducting research, ordering food, and planning Lean and Green meals. During the NFL offseason, managers and coaches plot out their season and form strategies while teams evaluate or acquire free agency players.

Training Camp: Prepare
Next, teams enter training camp, where players prepare mentally and physically for the upcoming season. While NFL teams are running plays and working out, Medifast customers are trying Medifast products, executing the 5 & 1 Plan, and learning healthier habits. Customers test their determination and perseverance by sticking with the Medifast plan.

Preseason: Evaluate and Adjust
Evaluating progress and implementing changes during the preseason is essential to success for both NFL teams and Medifast customers. Preseason is the time for “trial and error”. Coaches evaluate the current status of their team, and adjust their strategy to ensure the best chance of making it to the playoffs. Like coaches switch out players, Medifast consumers may switch between Medifast meals to find ones that works best. You may discover that seemingly helpful habits were actually hindering efforts.

Playoffs: Persevere
The Super Bowl pursuit culminates during the regular season and playoffs. A team must weather challenging matchups, outplay the opposition, and persevere through an entire season to prevail on the highest stage in football. Similarly, hard work, determination, and persistence are necessary in achieving Medifast’s highest feat.

The Super Bowl: Reaching Your Goal
Each year on the first Sunday in February, two NFL teams make it to the Super Bowl. It is the crowning moment for any NFL team to simply play in this championship game. During the Medifast journey, making it to the Super Bowl means you have reached your ideal weight. However, the ultimate goal is a few good plays away.

Winning the Super Bowl: Maintain
The success of beating your greatest rival is an accomplishment that both NFL teams and Medifast consumers can understand. The home stretch of the Medifast journey is not just reaching one’s weight loss goal, but maintaining the weight loss and instilling a healthier lifestyle as well. Whether it’s overcoming a particular exercise, bad habit, or fear, winning the Super Bowl to a football team is like accomplishing and maintaining weight loss to a Medifast customer.
